NASA Astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson has made the first sign Language broadcast from Space. Tracy is hearing but learnt ASL when she met a deaf friend on the running track, and continued her sign language studies to support a Deaf student on her chemistry course. She is now an astronaut on the International Space Station. Watch the video. If your ASL isn't up to it you can watch the captions (subtitles). I love the way her hair floats in the weightless conditions as she signs! Sign Language is up there and being broadcast from space !
Now we just need the first British Deaf Astronaut to sign BSL in space!!
