Baroness Ashton visits Gaza Deaf School

The High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union and First-Vice-President of the European Commission Baroness Ashton visits Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children and holds a meeting with representatives of the civil society and private sector in the main hall of the  organization.

Gaza – Sunday 18 July 2010 – Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children – Gaza – Today a high level European Union delegation headed by the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union and First-Vice-President of the European Commission Baroness Catherine Ashton visited Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children.

Deaf Mission wins award

CMS workers Andy and Suzy Hart in Tanzania contacted us earlier in the year  to tell us Neema  Crafts restaurant had been nominated in a competition run by the Telegraph newspaper for best british run restaurants overseas

and asked us to vote for them

The good news is that they won

Changes at Go Sign!

Raymond AbernethyGo! Sign's  Ministry Director, Laurence Banks, has resigned in order to concentrate on his final year of study at the London School of Theology. The new ministry Director wil be Pastor Raymond Abernethy, from Northern Ireland, who has has agreed to take on the role for one year. Raymond is well known and respected within the Deaf Christian community, both in the UK and overseas. He has worked closely with Go! Sign for a number of years.

Deaf Priest Resigns

Peter McdonoughDeaf Catholic priest, Father Peter McDonough revealed to his congregation at St Joseph's Mission to Deaf People in Salford on Sunday that he had broken his vow of celibacy and that he is leaving the church after confessing he has a four-year-old child.

After a "time of reflection", he decided his responsibility should lie with his family, Salford diocese said.
